OLONGAPO CITY - Celebrations filled the Olongapo City Convention Center last May 25, 2009 as proud parents, relatives, administration official and mentors honored the achievements of the Class 2009 at Mondriaan Aura College College's 2nd Summer commencement exercises with more than 30 candidates for graduation marching on stage to get their respective diplomas. These 30 candidates have successfully met the academic qualifications and standards as required by the COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION and the TECHNICAL EDUCATION and SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY respectively.

The program started at four in the afternoon with the grand entrance of the candidates for graduation, the college administration and faculty members. The presentation of the candidates for graduation by Dr. Editha Geniza, the College Executive Vice President for the Master Degree and Prof. Roel Dimalanta, the Associate Dean for Academics for the baccalaureate and associate degrees and the awaited awarding of diplomas were done afterwards.

The College President, DEAN EDGAR GENIZA gave his special message to challenge the graduates.

The College President appealed to the graduates to live with the vision fought by the institution and be true to the school's ideals of education for liberation by urging the graduates not to get complacent with what they achieved in this graduation. He challenged them to push themselves to the limit by utilizing and sharing to others what they have learned in the school.

The College President's message revolved around the ideals of gentleness being the best armament in dealing with the graduates' future endeavor. He cited the experiences and wisdom we have learned from Jesus Christ emulating gentleness as He suffered from the Cross. He relayed that through Christ's gentle heart which exuded that love , the human race was saved from further sins.

Dean Geniza lamented that some people used their education and talents selfishly, creating more sufferings than good to people. He appealed by having a gentle heart, we shall be able to be more willing in serving humanity and by doing so will help ensure the creation of truly a compassionate society.

"We hope that you will continue to learn as you experience life along with its many triumphs and its many challenges, but always be guided that in each challenge one must be gentle... for in gentleness there is a hidden strength," the College President added.

"Use your gentle heart in embarking on a new beginning filled with hope as you take on a larger role in the much grander scale of God's plan. Remember, gentleness is strength." The College President ended.

The summer graduation ceremony was capped by the singing of the graduation song

This ceremony was directed by Roel Dimalanta and hosted by Elisa Menor with Jinggoy Geniza and Leo Eusantos being the Graphic and Technical Directors respectively.
