BSA student Jolan Alpha Lania receives a Certificate of Recognition from Dean Edgar Geniza, recognizing her honesty in returning a lost wallet with 10,000 pesos
Honesty is alive and well in Mondriaan Aura College. This was proven recently when a student found and returned a wallet of a fellow student containing no less than ten thousand pesos.
Jolan Alpha Lania, an Accountancy student, could use the money she found last May 7 as it was enrolment time. But no such thought occurred to her as she promptly returned the money to the College administration.
The owner of the wallet, Housekeeping student Maria Gracia Eugenio was just too thankful and surprised that her wallet could still be found and returned intact. "It is very rare nowadays for people to return money they found." It seems that the current thinking is "finders-keepers, losers-weepers. I am happy to note that in this College, honesty is still the best policy", Eugenio said. She thanked Lania for her deed.
Dean Edgar Geniza, Aura President commended Lania with a Certificate of Recognition from the College praising her for "serving as a shining example of honesty for others to emulate and follow." On top of the 50% discount Lania is already enjoying as an AGGSEP scholar, the President extended another 25% discount on tuition fees.
