This year's celebration of Mondriaan Aura College's President Dean Edgar Geniza's birthday took a different twist when he was treated by a "surprise party" last May 1, 2009 at the College's Amphitheater with his family, the College, High School and the Elementary administrators, faculty and staff in full force attendance. The College President celebrates his birthday every May 5 "traditionally."

Immediately upon the arrival of the College President at 4:30 PM, a Praise and Worship at around 4:30 P.M. was held.

A short program followed after the Praise and Worship which was highlighted by words of gratitude as offered to the birthday celebrator. This program was made more meaningful and memorable when Administration scholars composed and read a mini-novel revealing Sir Egay's positive attributes as a man, a father, an educator, a civic leader, an administrator and a friend.

Those present were treated with a duet from Sir Egay and Dr. Editha B. Geniza, the celebrator's beloved wife and the College Executive Vice President. The couple sang "Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa Sa Tag-ulan" an original composition created by the celebrator himself years back for his wife.

The College prexy said that the party didn't surprise him at all since every year, the administration, faculty and staff prepare a party for him. He said he would be otherwise surprised if there were no party prepared for him. Further, he expressed his wish for a BIGGER, BETTER AURA.

Coinciding with the "surprise party," was a reorientation seminar for AURA Family underscoring the college's vision, mission and core values. Short lectures on power dressing and announcements from the academic affairs were likewise presented in this seminar.

More relatives, friends and stakeholders arrived and joined the party and were served with a sumptuous dinner.
