Tree planting does not start and stop at the act of ground breaking alone that is why only several weeks from planting "monumental trees" last April 18, 2009, Mondriaan Aura College CSR and NSTP together with PMAP/JPMAP Subic planted around 300 fruit-bearing trees on July 4 at Pastulan Mountains.
Tree planting is the most popular event and one of the most common activities people associate with helping the Earth. The simple act of planting a tree, helps the environment in so many ways like prevention of pollution, helps recycle water, prevent soil loss, provide homes for animals, make food for humans and wildlife , provide an interesting, soothing, learning environment for the community and a lot more.
Charmina Uy of PTT Philippines and her group said that "the project is exciting and very helpful to the environment." Further, they will join the succeeding tree planting events and plan to make it a bonding activity with their employees by having lunch in the area.
Teresa Esteban, HR Manager of Wistron, came together with 22 employees. "This is our second time to engage in tree planting and we want to make this our company's regular activity," she stressed.
Pastor Jose Danoog, Mondriaan Aura College's CSR chair and Albert Layug, NSTP coordinator expressed their gratitude to PMAP/JPMAP Subic in joining the event and hoped for their continued support to the project.
The seedlings were donated by SBMA Ecology Department.
